Techniques Training and Practice: 100 Hours
Practical training, analytical training, teaching methodology and guided practice in
* Asana
* Pranayama
* Mantra
* Chanting
* Meditation
Teaching Methodology: 25 Hours
This important segment will greatly enhance teaching skills and contribute to success in a yoga teaching career. Topics included here will be:
* Qualities of a successful yoga teacher
* Principles of demonstration, observation, assisting and correcting
* Communication skills
* Group dynamics
* Building a professional framework
* Establishing your unique teaching style
* The student learning process
Anatomy and Physiology: 20 hours Total
Solid anatomy knowledge will provide an excellent foundation for your yoga teaching career.
* Important anatomy for yoga: skeletal system, muscular system, flexors and extensors, tendons, ligaments and joints.
* Important physiology for yoga: organs and bodily systems.
* Important energetic anatomy and physiology for yoga: including chakras, nadis, meridians. *
* Anatomy of yoga: benefits, contraindications, balancing the musculoskeletal system, injury prevention, building strength, increasing flexibility etc.
Yoga Philosophy, Lifestyle and Ethics: 30 hours
* Ethics of teaching yoga: professionalism, student/teacher dynamics, community, professional boundaries and framework.
* Traditional yoga philosophy and yogic texts
* Limbs of Yoga
* Developing a Yogic Lifestyle: Concepts of karma and dharma, principles of non-violence.
* Principle of Seva: Selfless service through yoga and teaching.
Practicum: 10 hours
Practice teaching and receive valuable feedback to enhance your teaching skills.
* You will design full yoga classes and practice teaching in a safe, supportive environment
* You will receive positive, constructive feedback on your flow and style.
* You will participate in other YTT student classes and give them positive, constructive feedback.
Elective Hours: 25 hours
These additional hours will be tailored to suit your individual needs and desires. Topics include:
* Specific one on one work to design your dream yoga business.
* Developing your niche and clarifying your teaching style
* Defining your target student audience and creating classes, workshops and programs they will love.
* Business of teaching yoga: Marketing, branding, business building.
* Yoga retreat business blueprint
* Yoga theme classes, workshops and retreats
* Yoga for specific groups (surfers, runners, beginners, men, executives etc)
